    In “Markets and Marketing for Non-Business Major Entrepreneurs”, Non-Business Major Entrepreneurs will learn some of the basic concepts dealing with markets and marketing. These include:
    o Defining markets through analyzing the 5Cs (Customer Needs, Company Skills, Competitors, Collaborators, and Context)
    o Creating value for customers through segmentation, targeting, positioning, the 4Ps (Product/Service, Place/Channels of Distribution, Promotion, and Price), and S.A.V.E. (Solution, Access, Value, and Education)
    o Capturing value through price
    o Sustaining value through customer acquisition and retention and profits

  • Finances for Nonbusiness Majors

    You have a great idea, you can save the world (or some of it)…..but how can it go from idea to reality? Obviously you have to build “it”.,…. Not so obviously you have to fund it. Even if your objective is not to make money, it is at the core of anything we do. You either need to convince customers to buy your product or donors to donate to your cause. In order to build something sustainable the money issue is inescapable.
    In this talk we will discuss the basics of accounting and financial statements, what they are, how they are used and how to build them.
