Mentors and Partnerships

Accelerate is looking to partner with entrepreneurs and innovators from the Boston community and beyond, who can provide knowledge, valuable insights, lessons learned, advice and guidance to our student teams participating in the Accelerate challenge.

There are a couple of options to get involved:

Workshop Leader – We are currently identifying individuals interested to deliver a 60 minute interactive workshop with a 30 minute Q&A session to our students. The topics should circle around entrepreneurial DNA, receiving funding, business plan creation, business development, refining elevator pitches, and anything else important to know when starting up your own business.

Laser Mentor – Come in for one hour or more to meet with one or multiple teams about their startup idea. Give them targeted guidance and share your experience and insights.

Tour Guide – If you are working in a startup environment and you would like our students to breath in the entrepreneurial spirit and show them how starting up a business looks like, then we would be thrilled to tour your space and meet your people.

Student Volunteer Program

Join us in spreading the innovation and entrepreneurship buzz on Wentworth campus!  Help us with outreach and marketing efforts, event planning and implementation, mentoring student teams on business plans and ideas, as well as supporting our growing workshops and office hours.

There are a couple of options to get involved:

Event + Marketing Crew

Help in the coordination of some of our biggest events: “Wentworth Celebrating Entrepreneurship”, “Recruiting + Networking”, and the “PitchFest.”  Create buzz and spread the word about the event.  Organize posters, decorations, and sign-in table.  Help set-up, manage, and then break-down the event.

Workshop Coordinator

Help find interesting speakers from the Boston community and support organizing our weekly workshops.  Consider the talents and interests of the newly found connections and incorporate them when putting together the topic for the workshop.  Create buzz and spread the word about the event.

Team Mentor

Help mentor student teams, see their process through, and help them progress.  Meet with them on a weekly basis to discuss their goals, review their business plans, and iterate on their design process.  Ask challenging questions such as, Should you build it? Rather then Can you build it?  Network and build connections to share with your team that will be beneficial to them.
