As many of you know the MBTA began a pilot program last summer to see how much use “the T” (both subway and main bus lines) would receive late into the evening on both weekdays and weekends. College students, young professionals, hospital workers and service industry professionals rejoiced!

After analyzing the data from the pilot program, the MBTA has decided it will continue the service with a few minor changes:

  • The last trains will leave downtown at 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. This has been changed from 2:30am.
  • The last trains will leave downtown at 1am on Sunday through Thursday. There is no change here.

There will also be a few updates to the frequency of buses and trains. Most of the lines will see a slight reduction in frequency. A few lines will no longer have late-night service. See full details here: http://www.mbta.com/riding_the_t/default.asp?id=6442451913
