Colleges of the Fenway Block Party!

September 24, 2013 — 1 Comment

Have you ever been to a block party before?  If you haven’t, you can go as a College of the Fenway (COF) student.  Colleges of the Fenway are a consortium of colleges that collaborate with Wentworth including: Emmanuel, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Simmons, Wheelock, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.  Any students who attend these schools can take classes at any of the other schools.  All that a student has to do is travel off of their home campus.  COF students who take advantage of the consortium get to meet people they would not ordinarily meet.

Every fall, the COF schools get together and have a block party held on the Wentworth campus.  The Block Party consists of free fried dough, French fries and other venders just waiting to give out free stuff to students.  Some even have contests!  Who doesn’t like free stuff, right?  This year the most memorable contest of the day was that the New England Revolution were giving away Boston Celtics tickets.  Kiss 108 and Jamin’ 94.5 radio stations also attended the Block Party getting the students excited.  They had contests for knowing songs, knowing who played at certain concerts, knowing the radio DJs, and of course they had dance offs.  The prizes consisted of CDs, DVDs and even a tablet.   It was a good time had by all!
